DR. FREDDY SOSA
Dr. Freddy Sosa joined Clinic for Him as part of CFH’s Detroit clinic bringing with him over 50 years of medical experience and expertise. Raised in the Dominican Republic, he completed medical school from the University of Santo Domingo. After completing medical school, Dr. Sosa interned at St. Mary’s Hospital in Ontario, Canada, followed by residencies at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto and Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit. Aside from his professional experience, Dr. Sosa also served as a full-time instructor and Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Medicine, Gastroenterology at Wayne State University, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Medicine at Michigan State University. Dr. Sosa also has had several published pieces for multiple publications including the Journal of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His professional affiliations include the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Michigan Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Throughout the span of his career he was also recognized for various awards and honors including Senior Honorary Vice Consul of the Dominican Republic, Leadership Member of the Boy Scouts of America, and was also a recipient of the Blue Cross, Blue Shield Progressive Technology Award.
Apart from his extensive professional career, Dr. Sosa is also a proud and accomplished family man. Dr. Sosa and his wife have been happily married for over 50 years. They have 6 children, 2 of which are also doctors and 14 grandchildren. On his spare time, Dr. Sosa enjoys reading and has been actively involved in missionary work in the Dominican Republic.
